Greetings, is there a way to enable QoS on this router? The reason being that I have an OBi device for VOIP & I'm getting choppy audio. My last speedtest was showing some bufferbloat issues.

[ONT] POTS backup with PowerReserve

A new ONT has been installed and Cybershield DBH36D12V (with 12 D cell batteries) provided for backup. However it requires being switched manually when needed during power failure. If left ON in normal condition FiOS internet and TV do not work. Manual NO/NC switch provides 0.15 VDC when OFF and 19.1 VDC when ON. Battery pack output plugs into 120 VAC (Nokia) power module and is unsupervised. I would like to set this up to switch ON automatically when 120 volt power fails. How can this be done?

[Networking] how to set up MI424 WR rev I as bridge w/ new Arris NVG468MQ main

just got an Arris NVG468MQ as my main router and would like to use my old Actiontec Rev I as a bridge using coax cable. Can't seem to get this to work with existing instructions, is the differing IP Addr the problem; 192.168.1.1 vs 192.168.254? network newbie.

Removing FIOS router and replace with Moca adapter

I currently have FIOS TV, internet and phone. For the last few years, I have been running my own router as primary with FIOS router as secondary supporting only the Moca coax for the tv service. All internet activity is done through my router. It has been working flawless but because of the limited space where I have the router, I want to remove the bulky FIOS router and replace it with a moca adapter so that the TV portion of the service continue to work. The ONT is configured to deliver internet via the ethernet port and not COAX. The coax cable runs from the ONT to splitter where it splits one line upstairs to the main STB box and the other downstairs. The line downstairs where the router is splits again. One coax cable goes to the STB client box and the other connects to the fios router coax connection. My current setup is as follows: - Asus RT-AC66R router (primary) - ethernet connected to WAN port from ONT. Router is configured to support dhcp for STB and network devices. Everything works except DVR outside of network. - FIOS router (MI424WR-GEN 3I - rev I / firmware 40.21.10.3) - connected via lan port of fios router and lan port of asus router. All other functions such as wifi, dhcp networking is disabled since it is not needed. What I plan to do is replace the FIOS router with the Actiontec bonded Moca 2.0 ethernet to coax adapter (ECB6200S02). This adapter has 2 coax connectors (coax out [STB/TV] and Coax in [has networking symbol]) and one ethernet port. I know the ethernet port connects to the port of the asus router but I'm not sure about the coax connection. Do both coax need to be connected to the line? One is Coax in and the other is Coax out. I'm assuming based on how the fios router only has one coax connector, I would only connect the coax in of the adapter to the splitter. All of the cable boxes are connected to the same coax line including the fios router. I searched online and here but could not find the answer.

Verizon Fios App and Google Wifi

I was able to successfully hookup google wifi with an existing fios quantum gateway router. I have a coax cable from the ONT to the gateway router and an ethernet cable from the gateway router lan port to the google wifi point. I have a 3 point google wifi mesh network. Everything works - TV/Phone/Internet/On demand/Guide/DVR The only thing that I am not able to do: while I am connected to the google wifi network, I am not able to playback anything stored on my dvr through the fios app on a tablet/phone/website. However, when I am not connected to my google wifi network, like using the phone's LTE connection, I am able to use the fios app to watch what I have on my dvr. There seems to be a problem connected to the set top boxes via the fios app when I am on my home google wifi network. Any clues to what is going on or how to fix this?

Hello, I am having problems with my FiOS connection. It seems my phones, tablets, computers and Dish are having issues getting to web pages and the such. I have both 2.4 and 5 enabled (more items towards the 2.4). It has been like this for quite a while. When I do the speed test it is good and the fluff. I'm hoping you can help me. Your Fios telephone number - 1-716-400-4231 or 1-716-835-3080 Your name and the name on the account - Brandon Singletary The service address - 411 Walton Dr, Cheektowaga, NY 14225 Length of time you have had the service - around 5 - 11 years. VZE Congestion with Telia

Yes, I am a VZ DSL customer, but this specific problem lies in the VZE backbone network that both FiOS and DSL customers share past the local aggregation router. I'm posting in the FiOS sub with this problem because it's more likely a poster here will run into the issue versus in the DSL subforum which is far less active. There is no technical fault with my DSL line, the issue is far upstream from the ATM soup. As of this evening the Verizon Enteprise->Telia peering router in Ashburn (157.130.91.86) has been suffering from high congestion. I am ending up with 300+ms latency to a data center in Atlanta for a TF2 server I play on, within an Internap datacenter. The congestion is originating from that router. In the past my traffic was carried by other carriers past the VZE network, not Telia. It's my understanding that VZ has a history documented here of congestion with Telia. Anyone else on VZ wireline in the VA /MD/DC area encountering congestion between the VZ/Telia network? Specifically people in LATA's 246, 236 and 240.

Terrible Real-World Gigabit Speeds

I just got my Gigabit Internet installed today. The landlord already had an ONT outside so all he did was run CAT5e from outside to my room, install a jack, and get rid of the old battery backup. I'm having a problem getting real-world Gigabit speeds. I have tested on two of my desktop computers (i5 and i7) so that is not the culprit. ONT to Router to PC: https://postimg.org/gallery/1tea6e6i4/ - The Device Test is usually at 400-500Mbps of Download and near the middle-end it spikes up to 900Mbps constant... ONT to PC (No Router): https://imgur.com/a/BiQXE Tomorrow I will try plugging an Ethernet Cable from the ONT to like a $250 HP Laptop and run the SpeedTests again. That is the only thing I can test to determine if it is the cable since I can't bring my computer outside. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I feel like support is going to shut me down since I am getting well within the range on their router test and SpeedTest. Is it a provisioning problem from the old speeds the owner had? It is really pissing me off that I literally can not get over 110Mbps of Download + Upload on the SpeedTest App in addition to the Google SpeedTest results. Once it was hooked up the technician didn't even bother running a SpeedTest or anything, he sort of just left since it was Halloween and he needed to take his kids out.

Multiple Public IPs?

Is there any way to use a 5 port switch to have 2 devices lease Public IPs off the RJ45 WAN port of the ONT? I don't want to loose any of my FiOS DVR/etc functionality but I am having issues using my Cisco ASA 5505 behind my FiOS router(Double NAT'ed).

No Gigabit/above 100 Mbps Tier?

I've mentioned a few times that my parents' part of Brooklyn (11225) still doesn't have gigabit. I went to check today and not only was I greeted with a new interface for selecting services, but also nothing past 100 Mbps. Is there something that I've missed over the past few weeks about them removing the 150, 300, and 500 tiers?

Any way to get new customer discount?

I've seen several "moving" trick threads, but that doesn't appear to be working anymore. Would it be possible to cancel my current internet subscription, and have another household member (with same last name) sign up for the same address to get the discount? Would we have to wait a certain amount of time after we've cancelled the current plan before we can sign up for a new one? Any tips to minimize downtime if this switch is possible?

Nokia G-821M-A - Potential reliability issue

I have an external Dual Circuit ONT, the Nokia G-821M-A. We have two separate plans with FiOS Residential: #1: FiOS TV + Phone + Internet 150/150 #2: FiOS Gigabit Internet Plan #1's Internet suddenly died this morning. I called up Verizon support, and after ruling out the Quantum Gateway as the problem, quickly performed a reset on the ONT. When it came back up, Plan #1's Internet was working again. The symptom was: No blinking lights on the ethernet jacks on either the Gateway or inside the ONT on Ethernet Port 2 (as depicted in the attached images). The resolution was: Reboot the ONT. The technician did this for us. Just putting this out there for folks to ponder, and as another data point. We've had FiOS for about 2.5 months now and this is the first time we've had any service interruption on either plan. During this outage, Plan #2 Gigabit Internet continued to work, and FiOS TV (via Coax) on Plan #1 also worked.

Extending network with Access Points

Hi all, I just went through a big renovation and addition to my house. As part of it, I did Cat6 wiring on all floors. I want to extend the fios network so I can get wireless in all floors. Here's my config (I'm implementing this weekend ... hopefully!): Quantum Gateway (Link) -> Cisco Gigabit Switch (all same subnet) -> CAT6 wiring -> 4 Netgear R6300 routers in AP mode (Link) Does anyone have this or similar setup? If so, any pointers on how exactly to configure the FIOS router and or Netgear AP's for things to work smoothly? Thanks in advance!

No Fluff on 100/100 speed tier

We have the 100/100 speed tier and noticed that there is no extra fluff on the download speed. I get anywhere around 94-98 for download speed and 121-124mbps for upload speed. Is there anything I can do about the download speed close to the 100mbps or a little higher? Thanks

I am having trouble getting the audio IP box to work full duplex..It only received in UDP ok but cannot send out on this static ip 96.253.x.x location.. However, I tried the boxes to another Fios IP same owner but anotjher location and it worked both ways...Does having FIOS phone service have something to do with it? One location have phone service and other did not..The devices was placed on DMZ bypassing everything and still not working both ways at ip 96.253.x.x but it worked on ip 71.176.x.x.. Same model router at both locations by verizon fios...Any clues?

[ONT] I-211M-L RJ-45 port shuts off every 15 minutes

As the title says, my I-211M-L RJ-45 port shuts off every 15 minutes and I can not, for the life of me, figure out why. The MGMT, NTWK, PWR, and BAT lights are solid green, but the DATA light goes off after about 15 minutes. I have to reset the ONT to bring it back to briefly life before it repeats. This started after I had to unplug the ONT and move it to a different part of the room. If it helps, one of the activity lights on the port on the ONT steadily and slowly flashes green, while the other one sporadically flashes. I don't know if that steady flashing indicates that something is wrong. I would sincerely appreciate any help, especially because I don't have a power cable for my Fios router, which makes calling a tech unavailable at the moment.

[Billing] Best method and pricing for FIOS/Wireless combo.

I am looking to help my mother replace her aging Iphone 5(ATT) that has a battery that is about to die. She has Verizon FIOS and home phone and isn't in contract anymore with ATT and owns the phone. We are thinking about signing a contract with Verizon Wireless and dropping the home phone and possibly upgrading to the 100/100 plan from 50/50Mbps. She lives in RI and prefers to stay on Apple/iOS. Can anyone give me a idea of a "good" price for something like this? Right now she is paying 60$(after fees and taxes) for FIOS 50Mbps and Digital Voice Unlimited and about 90$ for ATT unlimited text/LD/25GB(?). She has Verizon in price lock until February. I am hoping we can get 100/100 Fios and Verizon Wireless with a Iphone 8 for less than 140$ a month and lock in until 2019. Is this realistic? Which is the best office to call; FIOS or Wireless or retail store(BestBuy?). Does Verizon offer discounts for government employees?
