Hey Guys,
I just moved to Buffalo. I learned that the building right next to me has FiOS connection available. I live in a Condo and my owner has no issues having FiOS installed at the condo. Is it possible for you guys to check and see if FiOS can be installed in the condo ? Can someone reach out to me?
Thank you!

Just got Notification FIOS is coming
Just received notification FIOS is coming to the building soon. They had permits for work 2 blocks away from me which they were working on and now am informed they will notify me as soon as they enter negotiations with the building.
Hopefully we get full fiber optics and they wire up the whole building.

Fios Quantum Service without TV?
I upgraded to fios Quantum 75/35 last year and have been happy with the speeds. Now I want to move to the 150/65 tier. I called Verizon and they said it is available but only bundled with a TV package. Is this true? I already have Dish and have no need for another TV service. Can't Verizon just move me to the higher tier? Is this Verizon's standard procedure or was the tech misinformed? Does anyone have the 150/65 without TV?
Live outside the Boston Area if that helps

box removal
I had FIOS terminated about 3-4 years ago. I want to remove the box (ONT) on the outside of my home. Do I own this box? Can I remove it myself? Is there a penalty for removing it?

Wireless AC
I just got a new wireless AC router an wireless AC card.
I am looking on suggestions on the best way to set up my new router. I was thinking of just connecting it to one of the available ports on the fios router but if anyone has a better suggestion let me know.

will or does FiOS have this capability yet with their router? Is there a new router available to upgrade to?

VUDU no longer supported by FIOS
The streaming movie service Vudu no longer connects via FIOS through Blu-Ray or Smart TVs. Neither FIOS or Vudu has any explanation as to how or why.

Fios 50/25 pricing
I have to look into FIOS because I'm getting a new job that is 100% telecommute and Comcast likes to just randomly shut off my internet for hours at a time claiming unplanned maintenance or whatnot.
I'm not interested in being locked into a contract with Verizon as I've had too many problems with them before, also I'll probably move within the next 2 years so no point in being locked into the 2 year contract.
It's kind of lame their plans go from 15/5 straight to 50/25. 15 is not enough for me while 50 is too much, and right now I get 20/5 with Comcast for $60/mo, pretty crappy they don't have something comparable but that's Verizon for you.
Verizon is infamous for their bait and switch pricing so I'd like to get a better idea of what I'll be paying. They say no-contract the 50/25 is $85/mo plus taxes and fees for one year. Can anybody give me a better idea of how much the taxes/ fees are, and what the price will be after one year?

[Northeast] How do I setup my Verizon Actiontec router in Bridg
I recently received FIOS Triple Play service for my company and I am trying to put in bridge mode since I have a Netgear UTM 25 which handles my network (DHCP, VPN, etc). I also have a static IP on the FIOS since I need it for my netgear router.
I have the FIOS service going directly into the WAN port of the Actiontec MI424RW Rev.I router and then the COAX on the back of the router is for the TV service. At this point I don't care if I loose the TV service since I mainly need the FIOS Internet instead.
Any thoughts on how I can put the Actiontec MI424RW into bridge mode so I can connect it directly to my Netgear UTM 25 router?
Thanks

Moving; possible to keep same @verizon.net e-mail address?
We just purchased a new home and will be moving during the second week of July. We're having some work done at the new house before we move so for a couple of weeks, I'll actually have FiOS service at both houses. I've had my current @verizon.net e-mail address for 7 years now and I'd like to keep that account active and associated with the FiOS service at our new address. I called VZ twice to ask if that would be a problem and I've gotten conflicting responses. The first rep I spoke with said that as soon as I have service at my current house disconnected, I'll lose access to my current e-mail address and there's no way to associate that e-mail with the new service. The second person I spoke to (a day later) assured me that it wouldn't be a problem to keep my same e-mail address. Can anyone who has been through this scenario before shed some light on the subject? Thanks very much!

Getting FIOS, questions about VOIP and Home Security
I am moving next month and have a few questions about FIOS.
I am currently using VOIPO's (voipo.com) VOIP product. It is small linksys box the plugs into the router. I am assuming this will just plug into the Verizon router. Feels like this should be easy.
In my market there does not appear to be a home security offering from FIOS, so I am looking for options. The house has a security system and am looking for monitoring options that would work through FIOS.
Thanks!

Email client deadline
Looks like there is now a date by which all users using an email client need to make their changes. September 2013.
" As a follow-up to the email we recently sent regarding the Verizon plan to phase out old settings used to send and receive Verizon.net emails through an alternate email application (for example Outlook Express®, MS Outlook, Windows Live Mail or via compatible cell phone and tablets), we wanted to remind you that it is critical that you make the setting changes below to avoid disruption to your service and to take advantage of the latest security functionality. After September 2013, Verizon will begin implementing changes that could cause a disruption to your service if you have not implemented the new settings."

[Southwest] Can you access to http://web.chjhs.tp.edu.tw/ ?
I have not been able to access to web site at http://web.chjhs.tp.edu.tw/ for many days. Yet, http://www.isup.me/http://web.chjhs.tp.edu.tw/ shows "It's just you. http://web.chjhs.tp.edu.tw is up.". On the other hand, I can access to all other websites I want to.
How about you? Especially if you are in Long Beach, California.

[Northeast] WANT FIOS! VERIZON GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. BUYER B
Well I would like you all to know that 4 weeks later after Verizon telling me that Fios is available in my area, placing an order with them and signing a contract for install, fios is still not installed and verizon is giving me the complete run-around. I am 1 step away from going to the local news channel (9WSYR) and running a story. I have a contact at the news stations that will be happy to run a story.
Basically over the last 4 weeks the following has been happening over and over:
1) Verizon tells me my order has been delayed due to an "engineering issue" and will need to be re-scheduled and to call them.
2) I call them, they say they have no record of the order being delayed and that the appointment is still on and set to go for 8-12 on such and such date.
3) I wait, take time off or work, they never show up for the install. Then they call me saying it has been pushed back to another date.
(rinse and repeat - 3 times now.)
Every time I call them they say they have no record of my order being delayed and that there's no issues.
Well now, they must be fed up with my phone calls trying to get an answer from them and requesting to speak to a supervisor (their answer always is "no supervisors are working today") LOL!!!
Now they are claiming that fios is not available is not in my area at all, never has been and that I NEVER had an order for fios placed!
Really verizon? What is this?
* see attachments to post *
Let's also forget the fact I've SEEN the fios trucks in my small neighborhood INSTALLING the fiber optics lines over the last few weeks. I HAVE VIDEO SURVEILLANCE OF THEM DOING THIS.
They CAME through my neighborhood on FOOT and hung from everyone's mailbox a card telling me that FIOS is available and to order now!!
Hmm, but now if you go on their website and put in my address, I get "fios is not available in your area." Convenient. And If I put my order number in online to check, it says "your order has been canceled." BUT they say they have no record of me having every placed an order to begin with!

New option in Actiontec Rev I? Bridge Hardware Acceleration
Anyone know anything about this new option Bridge Hardware Acceleration?
I am pretty sure it's "new" but i could have missed it.
I found it at this page
Network (Home/Office) Properties
under the subnet mask.
I did some searches and found nothing that mentions it.

Possible to downgrade back to 15/5 after 50/25 upgrade?
We currently have Fios Prime TV + 15/5(25/5 really). If I upgrade to 50/25 for $10 more a month, is it possible to downgrade back to 15/5 if I wanted to? Only reason I ask is because 25/5 seems to be plenty for us, but would like to try 50/25 for a month or so to see if it's worth the extra $10 a month. Budget is tight these days, every bit counts, heh.
Also, will there be another round of speed upgrades coming soon?

[Northeast] Hints of FiOS deployment
Even though the reports on DSLR show that FiOS deployments have come to a halt, I am seeing signs that a FiOS deployment may be in the cards where I am at in Springfield, MA. I have been seeing a lot of Verizon contractors pulling fiber optic cables in my area.
Just today I was driving into Ludlow and there were contractors pulling cables by the bridge. And there is a VZ CO a couple of blocks to the south (Indian Orchard exchange) where the Telco contractors were working. The IO exchange serves mostly residential areas but also serves several large shopping districts. The small CO exchange only has one prefix and that is 413-543-xxxx.
I've also seen VZ contractors working in the downtown area.

I've experienced ImOn (when they were McLeod USA), Mediacom, Comcast, and Time Warner and I currently have DirecTV. They are much better than broadcast TV.
I have not and will not cut the cord.

Router settiongs - IP Change
Thought I'd start a new post with these questions since they are much more specific than my original post asking about the benefits of a secondary network.
I've decided to do it but am wondering where in the menus I can change the IP to 192.168.2.1 I found one spot and changed it but then I logged out of the router and when I went to log back in, it allowed me to do it with 192.168.1.1 Not sure if I am confusing the login URL with the actual network settings but if I change the setting correctly, will it in fact make me go to 192.168.2.1 in order to login to the router?

75/35 and new Router?
I have the old 35/35, with a 2-1/2 yr router, and no contract anymore. I was offered for the same price a bump to 75/35, but they recommended a new router, which they claim has better wireless capability, but costs 79.95...Anyone upgraded to this?

Alcatel o-211m-e - Wiring question
I apologize for a completely beginner question, I want to replace my Actiontec router and have decided to run Cat 6 to my ONT (Alcatel o-211m-e). I opened the ONT and wasn't sure how/where to run the cable to within the box.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for where exactly the new cat 6 cable gets plugged in? Does it replace that green cable? Do I have to cut the adaptor and wire the individual wires to the block?
I apologize for the novice question. Hope you can help.
