Hi everyone,
I've attached a highly technical drawing for reference... in MSPaint...
Anyways, I bought my parents a Chromecast for their living room TV. They currently have a Verizon FiOS router in their office in the corner of their house, and unfortunately streaming to the Chromecast is pretty bad. My brother recently moved out from their house in the top-right corner of the image, and I recently re-discovered a cat5 I ran from the office to that bedroom years ago (the blue line). So, to help aid in the wifi signal to their living room TV, do you think it would be best to run a cable from the VZ router to that wall jack, and connect another router in AP mode in that bedroom, that way it is only the one wall in between their TV and the AP? They grey lines are just visuals to show what walls the wifi is going through to the TV...
The only other option I see would be for the VZ router to be moved to the bedroom, and then simply hook up the PC in their office to the network jack in that room... Any other suggestions I am open to as well.
Thanks
↧
