I have created firewall rules to completely cut off my son's XBOX on a daily schedule. The rules are firing on time to drop any packets to/from his XBOX based on his MAC address but this does not work for any connection in progress and he keeps merrily playing along after his cutoff time. It does successfully block the XBOX if it comes online after the rule has already been activated.
Most firewalls have an initial bypass rule that automatically allows packets that are part of an existing connection and I think this is probably my problem but I don't see a way to prevent this using the Actiontec GUI.
Any ideas on a solution?
