Hello all, my uncle had an extra fios router that he didn't want so he gave it to me. Previously I had 2 fios routers (1 with the red outline and one with the gray outline) and 1 ASUS router (this router gives my mac max speeds but fios doesn't I don't know why). The way I had it set up was the main router (red outline) in my room had it's own SSID/password, living room router (gray outline) had it's own SSID/password, and my ASUS router had 2 SSID (2.4/5). I am able to get them all to work in this way. But, since I got the 3rd fios router (this one has the red outline also) I just wanted to have all of the fios routers to have the same SSID so my devices can seamlessly switch through the networks to get the best signal. I stumbled upon a nice thread here in DSLreports and I am able to configure the three routers to do so. However I run into a little issue.
I can only get 2 fios routers to work perfectly fine and the third one will eventually stop giving internet.
What I decided to do was to leave my main router in my room to work and also the router in my sister's room so I can have wifi in the backyard.
But with my living room router it randomly drops internet connection and the only way to get back internet would be to switch it off and then on again. This only works for a couple hours until I have to redo it.
I don't know if this will help solve anything but my living room router will emit an amber light, which usually means that it won't give internet but it does still for a couple hours. Which confuses me.
Main Router - my room, red outline
2nd Router - living room, gray outline
3rd router - sister's room, red outline
Again, I have amazing single from the middle of my house to the backyard but my front yard and living room would only get amazing signal temporarily until I reset the living room router.
Please Help :( :hmm:
If you have any questions about my set up or configurations please ask.
