I have a pending FiOS installation (Internet only).
There is already a FiOS aerial drop with an 8 port fiber distribution terminal attached to my house. The existing NID is also mounted outside at ground level.

I would like to have the battery backup unit installed in a 2nd floor closet in my home office, and the ONT installed either:
1. in that same 2nd floor closet (my 1st choice) or
2. if the ONT must be installed outside, mounted at the 2nd floor level, not at the ground level by the existing NID.
The distance from the outside brick face to my home office's closet on the second floor is no more than 15-20 feet away. There's no power inside the closet. However, there's a power receptacle about 8 feet away.
A few doors down at a neighbor's house, Verizon installed the ONT outside at ground level next to the outside NID. It's huge and ugly. I'd rather the ONT not be at eye level. Having it up above or inside also increases security, and reduces chance of mischief.
Is a FiOS tech likely to accommodate my request to mount the ONT either inside the home office closet or outside at the second story level? Or does Verizon require that outside ONT installs be mounted at ground level?
Will Verizon dispatch a separate truck roll if they plan to mount the ONT outside?
Should I contact Verizon in advance with my preferences?
I'd also like the router connected to the ONT via Ethernet, not coax. I assume that should not be a problem.
