Has anyone else experienced slow wireless G speeds with revision I?
I recently upgraded to the 50/25 Fios speed. I got a rev. I router the other day. I have one laptop that is N capable and two other machines that only use G.
On the N capable laptop, I get great speeds (over 50 down). But on the G laptops, the speed is pretty bad, typically under 10m.
If I hook my old router up (still a MI424WR - rev E I think), I get around 20-25M down which from what I've read is about the "max" over wireless G and these routers. Based on this, I assume there is something going on with the new revision I router. Does it just not handle G as good as the "G only" routers?
I've tried changing the channel (1/6/11) but that did not help. I also tried putting the new router into "legacy" mode so it would be G only, just out of curiosity, but that did also not change anything.
Does anyone have any pointers on what else I can try to increase the wireless G speeds on the MI424WR revision I?
Thanks for any help!
