Advice requested. To my surprise FIOS contractor came yesterday to pull fiber to the house because the Wife decided it's time. I have been putting off networking the house for a looong time. So anyway...I have 2000 ft of DataPipe 5E55 solid/plenum, will get some quad shield solid core coax and have a place determined for the data closet. I want Ethernet (in addition to the WIFI wife is willing to settle for) and TV with all the functions. Ultimate HD, 150/150 and phone Triple Play installation is set for next Saturday, but will be rescheduled. Still have a problem with no alarm during power failure/s, even with battery pack. Anyway it's Sunday now and I know I'm not going to get any real answers from Verizon today, so I come here seeking help.
Are the ONTs still only single WAN?, Should I keep the phone hard line for alarm? Are there still NAT problems with the new Quantum? I have no problem running ethernet and coax to all locations and wiring up the closet, but will they? Are bridges still required? I will likely have many other questions but this day is dedicated to catching up on research.
Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks.
