I've had cox for a long time and Verizon keeps sending me amazing offers to switch. I've held out because Verizon isn't the best with their stance on net neutrality, I read about them throttling/slowing down certain services. For this reason I was always willing to pay a little extra for cox which treats every packet equally and does not enforce data limits. (They do have data limits in their ToS) My cox bill just went up, so I thought I would ask a few basic questions. What is the equipment like, do I need to rent a modem? Am I forced into using a wifi router? I currently own both my docsis modem and router. I would like to reuse my router without having to bridge it with a verizon owned router. Lastly, hows the service. Is verizon actively throttling downloads, and does it enforce data limits? (I download a lot.) Thanks.
