Okay, before today I didn't even know what an ONT was. I bought a new house and ordered FiOS. The house had already been wired for FiOS so I had the option to have the self install kit sent to me. After arriving and not being able to connect, I went down to the basement to investigate the white Verizon box that I figured the connection was going through.
I noticed right away that none of the lights were on. Upon further investigation I couldn't even see a power cord coming into the box. Upon much further investigation and after being on the phone with Verizon billing and tech support (being transferred back and forth) I noticed that the power cord had been cleanly cut at the back of the box.
The power seems to be the only thing cut; fiber optic, cable, phone, Ethernet are all fine. Anyone know why this might have been done? Will it be an easy fix for the tech?
