I just bought a asus RT-AC68 to replace my Verizon router, called Verizon from work and had them enable my Ethernet port on my ONT, when i got home (still using their router) switched it to the Ethernet and had no connection, took my laptop outside and plugged it directly from the ONT still no connection, I do have TV services through my COAX, I tethered from my phone and started a online chat with them and they couldn't figure it out, the DATA light on the ONT is OFF, and it says there that it has to be ON when DATA is active through the Ethernet port.
After a few tries on their end they told me they need to send a technician in, I work weird hours so i wont have one until Saturday (4 days from today), is there anything i can do a this point?
I asked her to switch it back to the COAX until the tech got there, they told me they can do it but they would charge me.... yeah that's not happening....
Im thinking either my Ethernet port is broken or they didn't made the switch correctly
