Hello all,
I followed the instructions inside of this thread. I was able to get the secondary router to obtain a WAN IP address from Verizion, but my clients weren't able to "see" the internet. I would type in "www.google.com" in the address bar and the browser would time out. It was like it couldn't resolve the name even though the DNS entries were valid.
This instruction was a little confusing to me:
4. Top Menu - My Network - Side Menu - Network Connections - Network (Home/Office) - Settings - IP Address - Set to 192.168.x.1 where x is not used on your LAN - Apply
*NOTE*: Upon changing the default gateway IP of the Actiontec from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.x.1, you will need to [ ipconfig /release ] and [ ipconfig /renew ] from Command Prompt, so your computer can quickly reconnect to the Actiontec.
I ended up with both routers being inside of the same subnet. The Actiontec router was 192.168.1.1 and the secondary router was 192.168.1.4. I made the secondary router's LAN IP address (192.168.1.4) the gateway.
Any thoughts on what I need to do to let the clients see things properly?
Thanks.
