Bridging Actiontec Still Necessary?

I have a 25/5 FIOS account that is only getting 10Mbs out of my DLink DIR-825 router that sits behind the Actiontec (Rev D). I've read plenty of posts on the pros and cons of bridging the Actiontec as well as how to do it. But those posts seem to have originated in 2008 and 2009. Is bridging still required with later hardware revisions of the Actiontec (e.g. Rev I) in order to get the full bandwidth of my connection out of my DIR-825? Thx -K2
