Just a rant I guess..
So I just purchased a condo and moved in a week or so ago. I originally was pretty excited for the all my internet options (comcast, fios, and local electric cable company). Come to find out comcast does not / can not get a plant in here so I was left with fios and the local cable company. Great I thought, I could get out of my comcast contract and get fios... Well apparently even though the building is a year old some genius decided not to do drops to each unit and instead settled with the mdu method.
I am now stuck with sub-par vdsl. I ended up getting the 50/10 plan and was satisfied with my original speeds 48/8 however the speeds fluctuate pretty bad here. Today I haven't been able to get over 35 all day... Is it possible the mdu is overloaded? I thought at the very least I should see some pretty consistent speeds, but the fluctuation makes docsis 2 look stable...
I guess I am just annoyed by the whole thing I know there is not much I can do, but rant :p. I also realize even 35 is a great speed and I shouldn't be complaining, but it still sucks knowing your limited by a dated technology.
