I have an Actiontec Gen3 as the main router newly installed and working fine. Internet is via coax.
Wireless is weak at the other side of the house so I configured the Actiontec Rev F that the Gen3 just replaced and that was also working fine as my main router as an access point using an ethernet cable from the Gen3 to the F and the LAN ports.
After about 2-3 minutes, the Rev F reboots and continues to reboot every 2-3 minutes. Without the ethernet connection between routers it does not reboot.
Here are the steps I did when setting up the Rev F as an AP:
- Factory reset
- Disable DHCP
- Assign a static ip to the router Rev F outside the DHCP range of the Gen3
- Disabled the Broadband connections
Why doesn't this work? I have an old Linksys router that I can do the same procedure on and it works fine as an AP on the same network!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I appreciate any input. Thanks!
