Hello,
The fiber on my street, as well as most of the drop to my house; is pole mounted. I live about 1000' off the road and there are three poles located on my utility right-of-way; one at the start, one in the middle, and the one at the very end at my house. From the end pole to the house, the fiber is buried; the rest of the way, it's moutned as the bottom line on the pole.
Last year, a tree fell on the lines and they were physically on the ground; it did fracture one pole but mostly, everything stretched. The other night, a dead tree fell on the lines; causing more stress.
How resilient is the pole-mounted fiber to this kind of abuse? Should I consider letting Verizon know in case they want to do something? Internet speeds are fine; but I have noticed varying levels of TV signal since the incidents. Could be the coax going in to the house getting old...but it's not getting wet which would typically cause that.
