Verizon Board of Public Utilities Meeting Summary

I went to the meeting that was held yesterday and this is what I experienced. I went to the meeting held at 6:30pm and put my name down to speak, however I was informed that it was a 3 and 1/2 hour wait to speak. Instead, I stayed and listened to testimony from the local residents for 30 minutes or so. Most of the demographic were elderly people, which I expected. Nevertheless, I was probably one of 20 people under 25 years old. Of the 7 or more stories, most were about the horror stories residents had to go through to get someone out and fix their service. Others expressed frustration that Verizon will not and would not replace the DSL with fiber optic. Here is just one that I recorded as I felt a bit awkward filming so blatantly as there were quite a few Verizon "minders" lingering in the crowd. https://streamable.com/xmfx However, the members who sat on the panel really did not seem too concerned and did not take any notes except for one person. They had someone simply record the name and where they were from and some basic contact info. None of them had any response to any of the complaints presented. This may have been intentional and announced ahead of time, but it felt pretty rude and sanctimonious. I attempted to get in touch with any local engineers to get more of an answer with my situation, but I was stonewalled and told to submit a formal compliant. No one was willing to talk about expansion especially in my area. Overall, I felt it was a waste of time for myself and my scenario. I feel as though Verizon simply did this to say that they listened so they can get some heat off them and defend themselves. May be there will be steps taken to pull fiber, but I doubt it. In response to some questions asked in a previous thread... uid://1898936 asked: Can you find contact info on anyone to report VMS bugs to? Who to contact about VDSL MDU being upgraded to Fiber? I talked to an engineer and he would not disclose any internal names or contact information without clearance from his boss who happened to not be around. This played out with every question I tried to ask about my situation as well. :(
