Last night I replied to a thread in which I posted my current fios charges for the purposes of the thread creators research.
I don't have a TV package, even though I do. I have Local TV only on my bundle to maintain the bundle costs, but I refuse the equipment needed to actually get the TV.
Anyways, I got to thinking about some of the fees that I pay like the fios broadcast TV fees and video regulatory fee etc. wondering whether not having TV at all would in fact be cheaper because I was not paying video and TV fees. I tried signing up as a new Internet and phone only customer online to see what I would pay.
During this process I had to read and acknowledge a disclaimer about the phone, explaining that I cant receive collect calls dial certain toll numbers, use third party services, or calling cards, and most interestingly: 'fios digital voice does not permit the dialing of any numbers that begin with "0", "00","01", "011"...'. I know that I can currently dial directly overseas, does this mean that new customers cannot do this?
I find this unusual, but I do see that there is no option to add International plans to the phone as there was when I started mine in 2011, and still is in my customer portal.
