[Networking] Setting up a second Gateway router as an access point, using coax?

Ok, this is a little confusing, so I will try my best to explain it as simply as I can. My ONT is in my living room, connected to my main router (Actiontec MI424WR) via coax. There is also another coax cable that is split off from the ONT, that runs over my roof, to my room at the other end of the house, for my TV box. I have an old router set up in my room as well, as an access point, which is connected to the main router via ethernet using powerline adapters. The speeds I get are bad, because of the powerline adapters, and this is what I'm trying to fix. So I bought a quantum gateway router, and I want to use it as an AP in my room, but by splitting the existing coax cable already in the room. I cannot run ethernet from my main router to my room, this is why I need to use the coax cable that is already going over my roof. I have the Gateway configured and everything, the SSID and password match my main router, the channel is different, and I disabled DHCP. Do I just plug the coax cable into the gateway and it's set, or do I have to change any additional settings?
