Prepare simple NAT Router ???

I am following this guide, http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16858, to change my primary router. I am stuck on the NAT Router or Backend Router. How do I configure this? Can this be a cheap router or does it need to be a decent router? Also, will my wireless connections use this or the primary router? I tried searching but couldn't find my answer. Please and Thank You
