Hi,
New to FIOS. Just installed a month ago using cat5 or 6 from ONT to x6 r8000 netgear nighthawk. have two STB working without display info, etc since I'm not using the verizon router. Have gotten a MI424WR Rev I which I hope to add to setup to get info on TVs. Large house so I need range, etc of nighthawk. both nighthawk and actiontec are both 192.168.1.1 so i follow what i believe is option 6 on a long 18-20 page thread; connected Lan of nighthawk to switch to actiontec which also has coax to splitter to feed STBs. turned off wireless of actiontec but don't see tv info yet. i am guessing prob because both routers are 1.1 for tcip.
I also think i could use actiontec first without wireless on then lan to wan of nighthawk to get AC range, etc. what i don't know is will actiontec allow nighthawk to reach full speed through it if 2nd in line? if not, what would you do with my setup. I spent several days trying to figure out things but am getting bewildered! double NAT, NIMs Moca, idk what else...if anyone is kind enough to opine on pros and cons of either idea or even a better one, I would love to hear.
