Change user login on the new Quantum g1100 router? and concerns...

Let me first just say, the wireless range on this router is horrible. And no activity lights on it? UGH Also, let me just say i'm glad verizon finally put back the upnp and igmp controls in the router and are no longer hiding the page like on their revision I firmware. I'm glad they listened to their customers. Still don't like how we can't block the supposedly "maintenance" port 4567. Which is definitely not needed for a verizon tech to check your router connection remotely and definitely not needed for updating the firmware. So who the hell knows what its for other then a backdoor for peeping toms to spy on you. But they put back wps? Thank god I can turn that off! But how do I change the user login name? Am I not allowed to change the username on this router, only the password!?!?! really? Encouraging us to change the password is nice, bravo, but being able to change the username makes things exponentially more secure. Why would they prevent that? And whats up with the my network connections list? Some connections don't show up or connections show up that aren't connected, the inactive and active status is wrong half the time. Its annoying now because its always totally inaccurate. The security log also shows less events then the last. I think this is because they are cramming more information into them now. There should be a setting to adjust that. I do like how they show the mac address in there now, funny to see all the probes from diff ip addresses on the same mac. And speaking of mac addresses, last but not least. THE MAC ADDRESS FILTERING DOES NOT WORK. I'm sure there are many other people out there who spent an hour wondering why none of their devices could connect when using it. And before the so called "security experts" tell me its a useless feature. No layer of security is a useless feature!!!! I don't care if i'm frustrating some pro hacker outside my house scanning my wireless connections and trying to spoof the mac address for only 10 mins! Thats 10 mins of his life! that is if you actually think someone is going to do that, and that its that easy lol. Most likely they will just be like my friend who broke into his landlords apartment to take a photo of the password he has postit stickied to the inside of his laptop so he can get his free wireless, the computer illiterate bastard lol. No way that loser would get past the mac address filter though. so gimme a break with that everyone is a hacker pro who is trying to log into your router. I try to stop everyone from nosey neighbors, to script kiddies, to the pros. They are all in my "security model" ... The feature is there fix it. Do like the fact it has a guest wireless though, I mean, its not as secure as having a totally seperate router, actually requires two extra routers to be totally secure with a "guest network logon". (see steve gibsons security now's latest podcast "three dumb routers") But it is indeed a cool feature. These are my thoughts, Verizon took some step security steps forwards with adding back the upnp and igmp admin controls and adding a guest network login. But step backwards adding wps(but can be disabled) and broken mac address filter, inaccurate network list, and preventing changing of of the user login name.
