Hello everyone. In a bit of poor planning, when we got the internet put into the house in one end. Which means that the other end of the house has zero wireless signal. Previously this wasn't much of a big deal, the rooms without service we didn't spend a lot of time in. Recently though, things have changed and we have been spending much more time in those rooms so I figured getting internet there would be ideal.
Our current setup is as such ONT > Asus AC1900 (T-Mobile branded) via Cat5 > Actiontec Rev E I have disabled the wireless on the Actiontec, and it does nothing but handle the TV side of things. We don't have DVRs.
About a year or so ago, we had some changes to the account made, which had a technician come to the house and replace our cable boxes and he gave me a new router (Actiontec Rev I). He said we could use it if we wanted, but we don't have to.
So my thinking was to use the MOCA network to have the Asus and Rev E router where they currently are at one end of the house, and then configure the secondary Actiontec (Rev I) to be a wireless access point getting the internet over MOCA on the other end of the house.
I followed the guide here ( https://www.dslreports.com/faq/15984 ) which seemed to be what I want to do. I followed all of the steps, but when I plug in the tertiary router (the rev I) at the far end of the house, it doesn't get internet. The light flashes orange. This also knocks the internet out for the other Actiontec.
I feel I am semi-competent when it comes to computers and following directions, and I have followed the steps multiple times, with zero success.
Any idea on what I possibly could be doing wrong? Or if there is a more dummy proof guide I could follow? Or is what I am trying to accomplish impossible?
I apologize if this is a dumb question or if this is properly answered somewhere, but I have tried to search around with no success.
