I have a spare Actiontec REV I router in my drawer and I need a "physical" Ethernet port in a spot where I don't want to run CAT5 (in my garage) but have easy access to the coax coming in right from the ONT outside on the other side of the wall. Can I just connect the REV-I with a splitter and use it as a 4 port MOCA ethernet switch on my same network as my main (new) Gateway router? Do I simply turn off wi-fi & dhcp? Will the ethernet ports become part of my 192.168.1.xxx network from my "main" router? Trying to avoid buying another WCB3000 extender as I already have one upstairs and if the router works why bother with spending the $$$ for a WCB3000?
Never mind! I found the FAQ!
