Since there is much speculation about the Verizon sale of the northeast (Soon as someone can agree to gulp up those Northeast commitments) does everyone see FiOS going down the same road @Home did? If anyone remembers the @Home cable empire. Pretty much in the late 90s and early 2000s if you had cable it was pretty much on @Home and they had a massive cable modem empire. I'm not sure what happened but TCI got greedy or something.
I don't think the quality of cable ever recovered from how @Home was for almost a decade. @Home was revolutionary when it came out considering most people were bumping it with 33.6k and 56k if they were lucky. I hope FiOS doesn't suffer the same fate. :(
