3 days ago I got a thing in the mail saying Fios was finally available in my area. I was on the phone that night ordering it and setting up an install date. Why not? I'll take Fios 75/35 speeds for $60 less per month than Time Warner 30/5 speeds! hehehe.
Ok, question on install. This one is a bit tricky but I have the install date in two days (friday) so I need some answers and their customer support has been useless. "you must speak to the tech who installs when they come that day" they said. OK that's great but my question I need answered BEFORE the tech comes.
So anyway maybe someone here can help...
Currently I have the powerlines and the cable line (from twc) coming above my yard from the pole and attaching to the top of my house. BUT in about 2 weeks I will actually be having an electrician coming out and burying the power line and cable line underground in conduit. So it wouldn't make much sense for Verizon installer to attach it to the top of my house when the other cables are just going to be buried as well 2 weeks later!! So my first question is can I have them just leave the fiber optic cable laying in the yard and my electrician will bury it with the other wires??? Or can only Verizon open up the box they will be installing onto the side of my house and disconnect the fios line?? Cause I'm pretty sure I won't be able to schedule verizon to come out the same time my electrician is here and have them work together!
My other question is the box on the outside of the house. The only place on the outside of my house that it can really go is in the current spot that the time warner cable box (plastic gray box with weird key thing to open) is. Can VZ remove that box (since I won't need TWC box anymore) or will they not touch it? Cause there's really no where else on that side of my house to put the VZ fiber optic box and I don't want it on the front of my house.
Finally, with 75/35 quantum speeds, can they use the existic coax cable in my house for the internet (I know TV they can.) ?? or MUST it be Cat6 wiring? Cause I don't have CAT wiring anywhere in my house only coax. And I want the router and connect point to be on the opposite side of the house that they are installing the box outside of the house (because that's where my office is.) So if CAT wire is required will they run it inside my house to the other side, exactly where I tell them I want it?
I think that's pretty much it.
Thanks!
