Hello all,
It's been a while since I have used these forums. Hope all is well. I am wondering if anyone else is currently experiencing what I am or if anyone can help.
My current Verizon plan includes 75/75 internet speeds. I have always tested to see if I get these speeds. Please see the 2 links below for details. 1st link shows the test that was done a few weeks ago with Win 7, wired to router, static IP. 2nd link shows my current speeds after the Windows 10 upgrade. The upload speeds will never get past 16 Mb/s. I have tried virtually everything possible to try and get this fixed. I changed the DNS settings, used a static IP, changed MTU, went wireless, then back to wired ethernet, and finally, reset router to factory settings. Same results. I called Verizon to help and after rebooting the ONT, had me use their optimizing tools, the upload speed is still under 15 Mb/s. They seem to think it's due to drivers not being available for Win 10.
I went to microsoft site to make sure I didn't miss any critical updates, but there were no pending updates.
My pc is the only device with Win 10 at the moment. I am also using the ancient Actiontec Gen 2 router. I do plan on buying a new router and would like any advice on what possible routers to upgrade to. Many people will notice the speed improvements after upgrading to Win 10, but will not try to test their speeds. And although I see significant improvement to how fast websites are accessed, I have multiple devices that's under my network and this could lead to major hit at some point.
Can anyone give some insight on this?
