I'm trying to setup a VPN server and need some help here.
I've got Fios Quantum TV, and also have the Quantum Gateway / Greenwave router as the primary router on my network (to retain the ability to update software on the quantum boxes, and activate new boxes or replacements without having to swap routers each time)
I'd like to setup a VPN server that will allow me to connect to home and receive an IP from the same subnet as the home network, ideally provided by the quantum gateway's dhcp server.
I have an Asus RT-N53 that currently has Tomato installed on it. I can setup a pptp vpn and get it to work only in a LAN->WAN configuration which does not put my vpn traffic on the same network segment as the local devices at home.
I've tried disabling DHCP on the LAN interface in Tomato and connecting LAN-LAN but I couldn't get that to work. I don't know a lot about Tomato and was trying to figure that stuff out on the fly, so I very well could have missed something.
I'd very much appreciate any help you guys can provide. I'm open to any solutions here that would give me full vpn access to home and make my macbook believe it is at home.
Here's hoping that others have tried this, or at least have some ideas...Thanks in advance.
