I currently have a normal residential install (TV Local + ethernet GPON + my own router), and want to simply switch this to a business account. All equipment will stay the same, I simply need a new static IP. For some reason this process is extremely confusing to the VZ folks on both sides. They operate as completely separate entities, so on the business side, they insist I need a tech to come out, I have to rent a useless router I don't need, etc. On the residential side, they tell me I will be charged an ETF when I cancel my res contract, and didn't know about any policy in which they would waive this fee. I am still going to be a VZ customer, paying a lot more in fact, so this seems ridiculous.
Does anyone know of a way to make this process go smoother? I really don't want any downtime or to have to waste a tech's valuable time. I have seen others on here who use excessive bandwidth and are asked to switch to business, how did the process go for you guys?
