We've been having a new house built and it's got quite a few runs of RG6 all pulled back to a central wiring box (Leviton units). There's also another run of RG6 pulled between there and a shelf just inside the demarc for the ONT.
My question is if I'm going to split the coax from the router out to the rooms what splitters should I use? Leviton makes several of them for use inside their enclosures. I could certainly use something else and screw it down to a bracket, but I'd prefer to use ones designed for the boxes, if possible. I e-mail support at Leviton and one guy says they'll work, but only FIOS TV and not MOCA. Which sort of doesn't make sense as FIOS TV pretty much requires MOCA for the guide.
Only one run is 150'. The rest are all between 50 and 80' feet of cable, tops.
I've got a lot more wire pulled than I'll likely ever need live at one time. So I'm not worried about the 8 device MOCA limit. But I would like to terminate all of the wire inside the enclosures. Perhaps by plugged the unused ones into a splitter that's not actually connected to the live signal. If just to avoid dangling stuff in the box.
So which splitters should I be considering here? And what's known NOT to work?
