UPDATE: The squirrels did it!
The tech just came over and said that there was a hairline fracture in our line at the junction box down the street, and that other lines were completely severed, he thinks it might've been a squirrel? Hopefully it'll be the last time we have this issue.
UPDATE 2: The squirrel must be working hard. Just lost power again. I'll keep logging and pinging Verizon support with every outage.
ORIGINAL POST:
I moved in to my new house in Falls Church, VA in March and have been having intermittent service issues ever since I moved in, which only seems to happen when the outside temperature goes above 70F (It's probably a co-incidence), so I've decided to start a Log of the dates the outages. I have a new Router, and the ONT is pretty new as well (was here when I moved in). I'm connecting to the ONT via coax but considering laying down CAT6 to take advantage of the higher service speeds FiOS offers.
I've had numerous calls in with Verizon Tech support and it ranges from rebooting the ONT (which usually has the red FAIL led flashing when the outage occurs) to just waiting for the problem to solve itself.
I've also had a tech come and inspect my ONT and router and his hypothesis was that there might've been a tech working in the utility closet and he may have disconnected me by mistake during short periods of time. However, unless there's a tech in the utility closet 3 times a day, I think his theory doesn't hold. (Plus I've walked down to the closet a few times and there's never anyone there).
I've gathered as much info from 5/17 until today and I'll be updating this post with new outages as they happen
