Hi,
Thought I'd share this with everyone ... I was not able to access my corporate network via my VPN because the Verizon FIOS DNS Assistance was returning "not found" for the URLs of my company's Intranet.
The trick is to configure your Verizon FIOS Router to use the "Opt Out of DNS Assistance" DNS Servers which end with .14 in their IP addresses. Information about the Actiontec MI424WR router is here:
http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/fiosinternet/troubleshooting/network/questionsone/99144.htm
(1) First, sign onto your FIOS Quantum Gateway Router G1100: http://192.168.1.1/#/login
(2) Next, click on "Broadband Connection"
(3) Now click on "Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax)"
(4) Record the two DNS Server numbers. In my case they were 71.242.0.12 and 71.252.0.12
(5) Now click on Settings
(6) Now enter the same two IP Addresses except change the .12 to .14 to "Opt out of DNS Assistance" from Verizon FIOS as shown below, and then press Apply
Hope this helps!
