It seems if you now try to log into verizon.net (e.g. for e-mail, etc.), they force you to upgrade the authentication to a new multi-step procedure, including picking an image, image legend, and new secret question.
It seems there is not grace period around this, so If you quickly want to check your e-mail before dinner, you need to first fill all this out and make long-lasting decisions that you better not forget in the future. I just gave up for the first few times.
Even if you decide to finally enter all required fields, the process is only for slowpokes. Apparently, the internal server sync takes time and if you try to log in within seconds of successfully filling all the new requirements, you need to start from scratch again because the portal does not know about the changes yet. Very annoying. I recommend to wait a while, even if it asks you right away to now log in to the e-mail.
I don't use the verizon.net page very often. When did all this start?
