My current setup is using An Actiontec Rev I as my primary router, and my ASUS RT-12 router as 2ndary, using option #3 (LAN>LAN).
I use this config to maintain all FIOS TV features, and using the Actiontec in "performance mode" for all the wireless "N" devices. The "G" devices are relegated to the ASUS router in compatibility mode, so wireless is active on both, separate SSIDs and different channels.
I've now gotten the Quantum router, and want to use it as the primary in an identical config. I'm currently only using the Quantum router, albeit in "compatability mode."
i've noticed that the Quantum's assignment of IP addresses to my devices is all over the place, instead of relegated to the first 20 or so IP's.
Is that going to be a problem and does the FAQ option #3 fully address this?
Should I expect any problems on replacing the Actiontec with the Quantum as Primay, and the ASUS as 2ndary?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
