Hello everybody. Recently, I've been thinking about changing to FiOS. While looking at prices online, I've noticed that instead of the normal battery that I've seen for the ONT, they now will give you a "PowerReserve" for $39.99 plus shipping. The website states, "The Voice Backup PowerReserve is an optional backup power device that plugs into your Verizon equipment. With 12 standard, fresh D-Cell batteries, the PowerReserve will provide up to 25 hours of basic voice service, including 911 dialing, in the event of a power outage. Batteries not included."
Is this new? To me, it seems a lot more inconvenient then the normal single battery BBU. Hoping for an inside install, I would rather have one of the "all-in-one" ONTs.
Thanks!
