Let me start with my install configuration:
I was installed in 2005. My FiOS install is a pre-FiOS TV install, meaning they ran fiber to the house not the curb, and gave me a D-Link router. So there is no coax involved, and I'm on PPPoE. I replaced the D-Link router with an Apple router moments after the technician left.
Last year, 2012, I received an Actiontec router in the mail with a note asking me to install it. I of course just stored it away and I'm still using my Apple router.
This week I received a letter from Verizon stating they noticed I have still not installed their Actiontec router, and that if I don't within the next 4-6 days my service will be interrupted.
What change are they going to make?
I'm guessing they are going to disable PPPoE, which is fine by me and I can fix that in my router real quick. But, if anyone really knows what change they are making please let me know.
Thanks!
