I know we've covered forced IP changes before. Maybe something's changed.
My setup: FiOS residential 75/75 dynamic IP
ONT - Ethernet - pfSense - LAN . (no VZ router)
pfSense v2.1.5 x64 Xeon w/ Intel dual-Gigabit NIC
I have a pfSense box on my residential FiOS connection and every so often I need Verizon's DHCP server to issue a new public IP address to it.
I've done this lots of times on FiOS and Brighthouse, same hardware, same procedure.
I spoofed my WAN MAC (packet capture confirms new MAC) and waited for my DHCP lease to expire.
After 90 min and no new IP, I powered off the ONT for 10 min and rebooted the pfSense box.
30 minutes after that, the DHCP server finally issued a new Public IP and when it did, I got my old IP again.
I've never had that happen before.
So now I'm suddenly unsure how to get Verizon to issue a different IP address.
Any ideas?
