Hello everyone, thank you in advance for your help.
I have had my fios internet swapped over to Ethernet, and have replaced the actiontec with an asus rt-ac68u with success (on my first floor). everything works.
I recently acquired an asus-rt66u and have tried to have it planted on the 2nd floor of my house via hard-line via Ethernet from the 68u. I set an IP for both (192.168.xxx.1 and 192.168.xxx.2 respectively). I turned DHCP off the second router (66u) and set the same SSID and password as the 68u). I also set different wireless channels for both routers.I put them on opposite ends of the house, the 68u in the front and 66u in the back.
Here's the issue:
The wired connection on the 66u works, but I believe my wireless devices aren't connecting to the 66u in the back of the house. Instead, they try to stay connected to the 68u at the front of the house. Have I done something wrong?
Another question: If I wanted to use the Actiontec router that can from Verizon as another access point connected via Ethernet, would that be possible? Same process?
