My phone (cordless, 5.8mhz) has a fairly loud hum in the background whenever I make/receive calls. If I plug a spare phone into the test outlet on the ONT, there's no hum.
Normally I would assume this means that my wiring inside my house is bad, except for one thing - If I unplug the ONT (so that it's running on battery power) my cordless phone works fine; no hum! This makes absolutely no sense to me, and I have no idea what's going on.
Do I have a faulty ONT somehow? Verizon customer support was pretty useless and just mumbled something about a possible voltage issue and couldn't give me any suggestions, so I'm hoping one of you can help! Thanks.
