Could this be a router problem?
Is there any way to check this within the router?
Would changing routers be a solution?
I have Verizon FIOS and my problem appears simple. My job allows me to remotely log into our computer center using VPN via the internet. I connect to the center using a web browser. However, I often get disconnected after a few minutes and have to re-log in. Typically, though, the disconnections will stop after several login attempts (5 or 6 or more) and then the connection becomes staple (connection stays active for hours until I log out). Lately, though, the disconnections have become more frequent. I have discussed this problem with IT people, and they have no solution except that my LAN connection is resetting. It appears that I am the only one having this problem. Finally, this appears to be an isolated problem as my internet access is fine.
When I am logged into my work site, the VPN shuts down all other networking capabilities, e.g. accessing a home server or internet. This is done for security purposes.
Here is my router status information. Note
