[Networking] Problem with Actiontec MI424WR as bridge

I have about 4 rev C/D Actiontec MI424WR routers all over my house (since it's an older house) and they all work fine. I decided to buy the newer 1 Gigabit Actiontec so I can put stuff on my NAS faster. I bought a Frontier branded version and used this webpage http://www.dslreports.com/faq/15984 to set it up (like I did all the other ones). I thought it was working fine until I started trying to use my wireless internet with my Nexus 7. I couldn't get the tablet to connect to my network and when it did it did have any internet connectivity. I didn't have the wireless enable, so I turned it on and used the same information as my main router and it still didn't work. I created a new wireless network with the same results. I replaced the newer router with my older MI424WR and the internet came back on the tablet. What did I do wrong? Is something wrong with the router? I didn't want to call Verizon yet, but if I have to then I will. I don't know if they like it when you connect another Actiontec on the network.
