I've been trying to press Verizon to send me their updated router for no cost, to no avail. I was told that I could get it for free if I subscribed to the VMS service, which I'm not about to do until they enable eSATA support and allow external hard drives to transfer host boxes without losing recordings.
In the meantime, I found what appears to be a legitimate Verizon site selling the router for $79.99 instead of $99.99. While $80 is way worse than free, it's better than $100.
Am I missing something here? I've never seen the router offered for anything less than $99.99. Here is the link:
