Previous thread was closed, but I'm in a unique situation that hasn't been explored, which is why I ask this this thread be continued..
I have had Fios Internet since 2005, and I am presently on the 75/35 tier, on GPON, (I shifted down from 150/65)..
I also have Comcast Blast!(50/10), which was just upgraded to 105/10(for FREE), which I added so my NetFlix service would finally work.
So, why won't Fios bounce their 50/25 speed to 100/25, or 75/35 up to 100/35??
Both are within the limits of current BPON technology, so it's a no brainer.
There is the obvious difference with the download speed, of which I can understand, but VZ needs to at least offer a 100Mbps option for existing BPON, and 105+ for existing GPON customers, without any price increase, just to match Comcast's new offering.
Vz needs to move rapidly, on upgrades from BPON to GPON, for customers that want it, and at least match their competitors "free" upgrades, on download speeds alone.
