I've tried setting up two additional Routers that I had around(Actiontec MI424) to help extend my wireless network via coax into areas where I had very poor or no wireless signals. (3.2 MOCA instructions.)
Overall seems to work ok except they talk about setting the SSID to the same name as my primary router just below sect 2.5 of those instructions. I find that when I do this to my "third" router it caused more issues. It was ok with just the one extra router but not when I added a third. If I give the "third" secondary routers a different SSID it works better. I have to choose that "SSID" network from my list of wireless networks when I go into those areas of my house where I set them up to extend my wireless network but aside from having to pick the particular wifi network from my drop down menu it seems to work fine. I have solid internet connection in these areas for the first time. SHould I also give my first secondary router a diff SSID name?
Is having the routers named diff SSIDs more likely to cause interference issues or other problems?
