I'm sick of the nonsense with the actiontec router. Whose router provides the best throughput for a 55/25 FIOS connection? I've used some ancient WRT54G routers before, running DD-WRT firmware and they just don't have the horsepower to keep up. Not complaining though, they're great otherwise.
I need only internet connections, no MOCA. I have no Verizon set top boxes, just a number of Tivo DVRs with cablecards (which work great with the exception of not having VoD features). I've already got the actiontec connected via Ethernet to the ONT.
Anyway, I'd like to find something more current. Having both wired and wifi would be great but I'm willing to go with a separate access point, if necessary.
In keeping with the old saying, "good, fast, cheap... pick two" I'm prepared to spend accordingly. Preferably under $250.
Suggestions? Known disasters to avoid?
